01. Who We Are
Satellite Hills Ward is a community website serving the members and friends of Satellite Hills Ward, a local congregation in Sparks, Nevada, at satellitehillsward.com.
The website and its messaging system are operated and maintained by ZXQS Inc. on behalf of the ward. When this policy says “we” or “us,” it refers to ZXQS Inc. acting in that role.
This is not an official website of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For the official Church website, visit churchofjesuschrist.org.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
02. Information We Collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us. When you complete the ward communications sign-up form, that includes:
- First and last name
- Mobile phone number
- Email address
- The ward groups you select (Entire Ward, Relief Society, Elders Quorum, Primary, Young Men, Young Women)
- A record of your consent, including the date and time you submitted the form
We do not buy, rent, or import phone numbers or email addresses from any outside source, and we do not add anyone to our lists from the ward directory. Every person on our list put themselves there.
We do not collect payment information, and this site has no user accounts, logins, or public comment sections.
03. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for one purpose: to send you ward announcements, reminders, and emergency notices for the groups you selected.
Your group selections determine what you receive. If you check only Relief Society, you get Relief Society messages. If you check Entire Ward, you get ward-wide messages. You can change your selections or remove yourself at any time.
We do not use your information for advertising, fundraising, or any commercial purpose.
04. Text and Email Communications
If you opt in, we use your mobile number and email address to send non-marketing messages related to ward announcements, event reminders, emergency alerts, and other community communications.
This is a one-way announcement system. Messages are sent by ward leaders to the groups you selected. It is not a group chat, and it is not intended for conversation.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP. To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us using the information in Section 11.
05. Children and Youth
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website.
Sign-ups for anyone under 18 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. A parent may enroll using their own phone number and email address, or the child's, and the parent is the one giving consent. The sign-up form requires confirmation that the person submitting it is either 18 or older or a parent or guardian giving permission.
A parent or guardian may request at any time that we remove their child's information, and we will do so promptly. If we learn that we have collected information directly from a child under 13 without a parent's involvement, we will delete it.
If you have questions about information relating to your child, contact us using the information in Section 11.
06. Use and Sharing of Mobile Information (A2P Compliance)
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Information may be shared with the service providers that deliver our messages, solely to make the communications you requested possible. Those providers are bound to use the information only for that purpose.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any other third party, and are never sold, rented, or traded.
07. Cookies and Embedded Content
Our website may use cookies for basic functionality, such as remembering your preferences as you move between pages.
Some pages include embedded content from other services, including Google Maps and Zoom. Embedded content behaves as though you had visited that other website directly, and those services may collect data or set their own cookies. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
08. Data Retention
We keep your contact information and group selections for as long as you remain signed up.
When you opt out by replying STOP, unsubscribing, or asking us directly, we remove you from all sending lists. We keep a minimal suppression record so that you are not accidentally added back later, and we retain the original record of your consent as documentation that your sign-up was voluntary. Neither record is used to contact you.
If you ask us to delete your information entirely, we will do so, except where we are required to keep something for legal or security reasons.
09. Your Data Rights
You may request:
- Access to the personal information we hold about you
- Correction of that information
- Deletion of that information
- A change to which ward groups you receive messages from
A parent or legal guardian may make any of these requests on behalf of a child under 18.
To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable time.
10. Data Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are in place to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Access to the messaging system is limited to those who need it to send ward communications.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we are committed to maintaining the trust of our ward community and handling all information responsibly.
